Yes, you read that correctly people, the much anticipated second installment, aptly named Chapter 2, from Tresind Studio is here and it’s a goodie!
If you’re not familiar with Tresind Studio (who even are you!) you can read all about it in my previous blog from our visit on opening night last year.
The new 16 course degustation menu is every bit as impressive as its predecessor. however I was pleased to see they kept a few dishes from Chapter 1, including the gorgeous chickpea bread but this time with the addition of chilli butter. The curry steak made with 5 stunning sauces presented at your table could not be left out and the same goes for the khichdi, prepared in the open kitchen and showcasing all the flavours contributed by different regions in India.
Rather than go through every course and spoil all the fun for you I thought I’d give you the lowdown on some of our favourite courses.
First up was the Pani Puri Balloon presented on a rock vinyl; a new take on the street snack and with the addition of popping candy on top this will always be one of my favourite ways to start a meal at either Tresind or Tresind Studio.
Next up was the Morel Sandwich, with mushroom and freshly shaved truffle it was rich and bursting full of flavour. The Dahi Kebab Cornetto also deserves a special mention for being so beautifully presented.
Next up the roast chicken. This came out full of flavour and cooked to perfection. Dusted with gold it was oh-so-Dubai and oh-so-divine.
Two surprise dishes for me were the curried corn and the mustard scallop. I was worried both of these key ingredients would be overpowered but actually worked really well.
You can’t go to one of Tresind’s restaurants and not have the lamb chop, and this updated dish certainly did not disappoint!
From the desserts I absolutely loved the Cherry Blossom although I neglected to take a picture of it, I was clearly way too excited to get stuck in. From the petit fours I was a little bit in love with the frappuccino shots. And lastly the “Honeymoon”; fresh honeycomb served with tea to finish off. The honeycomb was sweet and sticky and super indulgent.
Priced at 350++ AED for the non-vegetarian menu I am pleased to see that Tresind Studio are still keeping the experience affordable and have even now included beer and wine in the package making it an absolute steal. My only suggestion would be to perhaps add a wine pairing or an elevated wine list for those who want it.
As always the experience was intimate and immersive. We loved interacting with the chefs and the staff couldn’t be more helpful. It’s such a pleasure visiting this venue and feeling so welcome and at home.
