Happy New Year you gorgeous bunch! Hope you all had a wonderful festive season!
So my first blog post for 2019 is all about the fab Saturday Piknik at the Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi.
Perfect for a family day out, Piknik runs every Saturday from noon until 5pm. Set in the Picnic area of the Westin and Le Meridien Mina Seyahi with views out to the beach, cute picnic benches, beanbags and blankets it’s the idyllic spot for a lazy Saturday afternoon.
The concept targets young families and who can blame them? With a bouncy castle and entertainment in the form of a juggler and games galore it’s perfect to keep the little ones entertained while the adults enjoy the chill and (if you are so-inclined) the reasonably priced bar.
For 250 AED you receive an adorable picnic basket upon arrival full of lots of light dishes; salads, cold cuts, cheeses, breads, muffins, cookies etc. It didn’t look like masses but actually my husband and I only managed about two-thirds of it so it is definitely fine for 2 adults and 2 children as advertised, as long as you don’t expect anything too heavy. If you do decide you want any more over and above this there are several food trucks serving tacos, fish and chips, bbq meats, fresh fruit etc so you won’t go hungry. Do note that these along with the bar are all priced additionally.
The relaxed Piknik vibes are topped off with live acoustic music, which we were really impressed with, playing an awesome mix of tunes to suit everyone. We ate our picnic, lounged on the blanket and the beanbags and then decided to hit the beach for a couple of hours. A picnic basket and pool/beach access pass is on offer for just 595 AED if you fancy going all out for the day.
A great way to spend a winters Saturday especially if you have little ones. The hubs and I were definitely in the minority without children, well, unless you count the one growing in my tum!
Do make sure you book in advance as a lot of the benches and blankets were reserved and I’d hate for you to be disappointed.
